Patrick holds a PhD in Public Management from Kampala International University [2012], a Master’s Degree in Development Administration and Management [2008], a Bachelor’s Degree in Development Studies [2006] and Diploma in Education [ITEK-Kyambogo]. I am also a graduate National Resistance Movement cadre 19 [Singo Military Training Wing 1992]. I served as Sports Tutor at Kampala International University [2005-2012] and currently lecturing in the Department of Development, Peace and Conflict Studies and Public Administration [2007-2015] and Masters Students in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at Kampala International University. Patrick is a highly rated competent lecturer [Merited best lecturer winner award in the Department of Development, Peace and Conflict Studies – 2014 at Kampala International University].
Dr. Ogwel is a member of the Institute of Corporate Governance of Uganda [CGU].
Dr. Ogwel is the current substantive General Secretary, National Council of Sports – an agency and a Regulatory Authority of Government of Uganda mandated to promote and develop all forms of sports in Uganda. He served as Assistant General Secretary in charge of Administration at National Council of Sports (May 2017-May 2018).
Dr. Ogwel also held several administrative roles in Uganda sports federations and organs-Served as Vice president FUFA Technical-Youth [2008], Executive member FUFA [2005-April 2017]. And Director FUFA Ltd, Vice president Administration Federation of Uganda Basketball Association [FUBA] [2010-2014], Executive Member Universities sports federations of Uganda [2008-2015], Executive Member East Africa universities sports Federation [2012-2015], Organizing Committee member Council of East & Central Africa Football Associations [2005-2016], Chairman FUFA protocol, Chairman FUFA Licensing committee and international match organizing committee [FUFA 2013-2017]. Dr. Ogwel also chaired many important national sports commissions namely MTN/FUFA Inter Regional Football Committee [2009-2013], Airtel Rising star youth football championships Committee [2011-2015]. Served as Chairman, Board of Directors Central Secondary School, Lira [1998-todate].
Dr. Ogwel is also an associate fellowship member Watoto Church-Kansanga [Didis World Amusement Center]. Dr. Ogwel has been the Chairman organizing committee of world savers excellence awards 2014/2015.
